Inuvik craft fair: Art and economic activity

craftfair2011 (4)

This weekend, crafters in Inuvik sold their wares. Seal-skin boots and mittens, beaver-fur hats, quilts, muskrat hats, carvings, prints, gloves and plenty of food were available.

The craft fair is always a big draw, and crafters fly in from surrounding communities.

  1. Going to the craft fair is one of my favourite things to do in Inuvik! Thanks for your wonderful pictures, Phil, so that those of us far away can still keep tabs on the Inuvik happenings.

  2. I just came across the info on the craft sale in Inuvik. I used to live there years ago and had a muskrat parka. Unfortunately after many years of wear it finally wore out. Do you know of anyone up there that still makes them for sale? Please contact me if you do
