This water bird was seen near the Arctic Chalet. Notice the long legs and thin beak, for picking small prey from the water. Nature’s chopsticks.
I believe it is one of the Yellowlegs, but whether Greater or Lesser I can’t really tell. I’d expect there would be more pronounced spots on a Solitary Sandpiper, and more white around the eye, but I can’t say for certain.
Yellowlegs v. solitary sandpiper always bugs me. I picked sandpiper in this case because I’d expect a yellowlegs to have more banding on the belly.
