Here’s a popular combination for a vehicle around here: A snowmobile pulling a rugged plastic sled.
People are now travelling the ice roads between Inuvik, Aklavik and Tuktoyaktuk.
I am just curious to know if there are any ice roads between Yellowknife and Inuvik. Im thinking of taking a trip during the winter up to Yellowknife and Inuvik. The only driving directions that I can seem to find is that I would have to drive from Yellowknife all the way to Whitehorse and then on up to Inuvik. If there are any ice roads between Yellowknife and Inuvik, are regular passenger autos allowed on the ice roads between the 2 cities, or would I be forced to drive the long way around through Whitehorse? Any info would be greatly appriciated. Thank You and nice photos by the way
Unfortunately, there just isn’t a way to drive up between Yellowknife and Inuvik! No ice road….
Maybe taking a plane is your best option if you’d like to visit both cities…otherwise that’s a lot of driving…
