These are Ookpiks!They are fur owls, which are available at craft fairs and the Inuvialuit Regional Corporation gift shop.
We have something similar here in Arctic Bay, only difference they are made out of seal fur (but I have no idea what they are called though, I’ll have to find out).
I think Ookpiks are common around Canada…not sure where they are from, but a lot of people seem to make them! Douglas Coupland’s movie “souvenir of Canada,” says they were selected as an icon of Canada in the 1970s, now everyone makes them..
