A dark and mysterious hotel

Notice the Gwich’in words on the Capital Suites hotel sign. I believe it’s the name of an organization which partly owns the hotel, rather than a translation of “hotel” itself.

  1. Yes, and probably.

It is the name of the property company, but I am pretty sure that “zheh” means “building”.

Maybe “gwizu'” means “company”, which would basically make the name of the company “property company”.

This would fit well with other things around town. For example, I once asked the Inuvialuktun CBC host what the name of her show (“Tusaavik”) meant. She answered that it meant “radio show”.
