The Bomber Pages: Inuvik’s Youth Newspaper

b-bomberpages.jpg

This is the Bomber Pages, a newspaper written by young people in Inuvik.

There are about 200 colour paper copies distributed in town, at the Youth Centre, video store, Inuvik Drum office, recreation centre, and other places.

Volunteers mainly come from Samuel Hearne secondary school and the Youth Centre.

I’ll host the issues here so they can be e-mailed around. Thanks to all the contributors, and to the sponsors who help us print it! Here are issues since the redesign.

It’s all made using plasq.com’s “Comic Life” application, which is so easy kids can help!

Note: We let youth decide what to name the publication, and they chose “the bomber pages.” It’s local slang — apparently something “killer bomber” is something good. (We might change the title in the future, but they seem to like it for now.)

(You can find the previous issues of the Bomber Pages at the Inuvik Youth Centre’s website.)
