Noisy people were playing country music again this morning.(Note the alarm clock says 4:33am!)I wish I could say the industrial earplugs and headphones worked. After being kept awake a few hours, I thought “well, might as well take a photo of myself trying to sleep…this will be funny in retrospect.” (Perhaps once I move to a quieter building?)

James Bond stuff at North Mart

This is called a snow-bike. It’s like a snowmobile but slimmer, and it costs $6000.Has anyone seen these before? They are sold at the North-Mart here in Inuvik. Not sure if anyone will buy it, because people usually use their machines to haul cargo around here.

There is a new bylaw being proposed in town. It would limit car idling to 30 minutes or less.It turns out, some spectacularly wasteful people — with diesel trucks mostly — have just been letting their vehicles idle for hours at a time, right downtown.These cars were just keeping warm a couple minutes, between deliveries at the Roost.
