Here’s a house from Tuktoyaktuk. It’s interesting to see how the satellite dish is almost parrallel to the ground, because of the curve of the earth.

    I definitely mean parallel: From what I’ve seen, the dishes don’t shoot skywards but point directly towards the horizon, like the angle of someone throwing a rock to skip across water

    Am I wrong to assume satellite dishes orbit somewhere around the “middle” of earth, in the direction of the equator?
